TVG-Zimsen was formed by the merger of The Bonded Warehouse plc (Tollvörugeymslan hf.) and Jes Zimsen Forwarding plc. Prior to this The Bonded Warehouse plc had taken over the operation of the General Bonded Warehouse plc in Akureyri.
